چکیده

The innuence of an elastic component of the rheological properties of the coating suspension on the coating ow in the blade coating process was investigated by numerical methods. The Giesekus model was used as the constitutive equation for the coating uid (coating colour). The system of time-dependent partial diierential equations was solved numerically by dis-cretising the solution with nite diierences on an overlapping composite grid. The numerical results reveal that the elastic behaviour of the coating colours, characterized with a relaxation parameter, can have a decisive eeect on the behaviour of the coating colour in the vicinity of the blade tip. The calculated colour-related forces acting on the surface of the substrate and on the blade tip were lower with a viscoelastic colour than those emanating from a corresponding simulation using a Newtonian colour.

Effect of Polymer Grade and Plasticizer Molecular Weights on Viscoelastic Behavior of Coating Solutions

Film coating solutions containing different grades of HPMC (E5, E15 and E50) with and without polyethylene glycol (with various molecular weights) were examined by an oscillatory method, using Haake CV 100 rheometer. Fundamental rheological parameters (?, G? and G² ) were measured over the frequency range from 0.04 to 2 Hz. The variation with frequency of the loss tangent (a ratio of viscous to...

A Study on Ratio of Loss to Storage Modulus for the Blood Clot

In this study the rheology of blood clot is measured with the help of rotational rheometer. Several shear strain (0.5, 1 and 2%) are applied with two frequencies (5 and 10 Hz) from the incipient time of clot formation and the response of the sample is measured with the form of shear stress and the phase lag which is interpreted with storage and loss moduli. In this study the ratio of loss to st...

Polymer solar cell by blade coating

Polymer bulk hetero-junction solar cells of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) donor and (6,6)-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) acceptor are fabricated by blade coating in toluene solution. Desired donor–acceptor self-organization is achieved without the slow drying process and high boiling point solvent. Power conversion efficiency is 3.8%, much higher than the 2.6% obtained by spin coat...

A Study of Flow Properties of Kuwaiti Crude Oil Obtained from Different Sources

The rheological properties of four different Kuwaiti crude oils in the presence of polyacrylamide (PAA) were investigated. PAA was varied at three different concentrations of 25, 50, and 75 ppm to study the viscoelastic properties in the untreated samples. Four different temperatures (25, 30, 35, and 40 °C) were used to evaluate different viscoelastic parameters of the treated and untreated Kuw...
